This is the First Friday Social for September. Come, hang out, meet the A-Team, talk, laugh and have fun. Children are welcome to come and enjoy as well.

The host will provide disposable plates, cups, and utensils. Everyone should bring a snack and/or drinks to share and will be expected to take any leftovers home. (Please remember to take your leftovers with you. It makes clean up so much easier on the hosts.) These socials are suppose to be easy on both the hosts and the guests so simple, easy snacks are welcome. Plan on this being a snacking event, not a dinner.

Our hosts for the evening do have 3 small dogs.

As always, everyone is welcome and encouraged to come.

The person who brings the best alcohol gets a free ride in the elevator INSIDE THE HOUSE. That's right.

My parents each have a Facebook page. Feel free to look up Harold & Shirley Mincey! (Don't ask why you can't find me on Facebook. I have issues....) Just say you're a friend of Joy from her atheist group : ) Christian's already a friend of mom!

Hey everybody! I'm super-duper excited about this! My first time to host a First Fri. Social. Many of you know, this is my parent's house. I want everyone to meet them, because they are the reason I moved back to Iowa to stay with them for awhile. Are you a coffee lover? My dad would LOVE to fix you a cup. He has the good stuff.

According to the description, kids were welcome. And for this, I am grateful as I brought my 6 and 4-year old boys. Joy has a beautiful and amazing home... it is, unfortunately, not a good environment for a 6 and 4-year old pair of boys. As a result, we did not stay very long. The time we spent there was pleasant; it was good to see everyone.
    •  Great time. Really enjoyed meeting all the new people.
    • Idiot Drunken Ex-Fratboy
Another awesome time! I didn't get home until 5 AM, and enjoyed getting to know the new people a little better.

       The dogs are exhausted today!
    •  Again, I find this group tends to be much younger than myself, but social! Yes, they are social with a capital "S"! It seems there is room at the table for anyone who attends, people tend to be open and curious as most educated and intelligent people are, how ever you got to that point in your life. If one didn't have an enjoyable evening, it wasn't because people there didn't try to make you feel inclusive and part of the group. Just plain good fun and a gab feast that went all over the map.
    •  Good Conversation! Thanks to Joy for sharing her house and parents!

It was good times with lots of great conversations with a variety of people.
