Whether seeing new releases in a theater, or hanging out with something vintage, talking pictures can be fun, intellectually stimulating or both. I will shortly be able to host small groups (10 or so).
Bill Maher's "Religulous" was fairly provocative. Other things out there are worth talking about, or just laughing at. Religion, the press, the government... all worthy of cinematic analysis. Who's interested?
How about a game night for the non-geeks among us? We could play Uno, Apples to Apples, and other games that are easy on the rules and heavy on the fun! This would be a joint event between the Corridor A-Team and the Corridor Secularists. Remember, atheists are like cats: the more you have, the better it gets!
Be sure to check out the message board thread on this event here: http://www.corridor-a-team.com/messages/boards/thread/8688086
Halloween Night. Similar format to First Friday as far as snack potluck. With a twist, instead of begging for candy you bring food for the food/pet food drive suggested below. I would be willing to host.
They have a nice patio area and I think it would be a great place to meet on lovely Sunday morning.
Just a fun way to spice up an already great event!
These are tough times for a lot of people. Maybe we could get the A-team/IAF name out locally by joining in some community services such as gathering food and helping with pet food too. Thanksgiving is coming and I am SURE we will not be turned away with even the smallest donation. It would be easy enough, I think, to decorate some boxes and set them out at local stores.
A few of us got to talking about skydiving @ 3rd Thursday. There is a great place in Vinton - Paradise Skydives (http://www.paradiseskydives.com/content/). They are very professional and provide a great experience. It's $200-$220 depending on the # of people. Who doesn't want to freefall from 13,500 ft! :)

If we have enough interest we could see about getting on the leaque at the sand pits on Blairs Ferry near C Ave.
