Joined to talk freely about philosophy, without having to refrain from being critical of common ideologies.
Flyball with dogs, trying new restaurants with others, stumbling across one of the many local public concerts or jazz groups.
I probably shouldn't mention that I'm an atheist, as that always seems to get a bad reaction from my coworkers. Yeah, no way I'm telling.

"That'll teach me not to proof my posts. The meeting was Monday, March 8th. Sorry you missed it, but if anyone wants to keep an eye on atronomy meetings and events, I post Iowa City's club events at icastronomy.org...."
"In January, our presenter, Howard, misunderstood when he was supposed to show up. In February, neither Howard nor anyone who was hoping to see astrophotography could make it, due to crappy weather...."
"Love the playdate idea, but for those of us with flyball-racing dogs, like Lori and me, the whole March 12-14 weekend will be filled with a tournament. Anyone can drop by to see some local flyball, but bring your earplugs!"
"I'm Denise's DD."
"Flyball weekend"
