  • Although cops in Marion HS - or any HS - may seem a new experience, it is not to me. I grew up in the famous Southeast Bronx in the 1950s, and we had armed police on each of the five floors of our 5,000 student high school. Watch the move, West Side Story, and remove the music - that movie is pretty close to accurate, without the music. Or a more accurate one - Fort Apache, the Bronx. I have both of the movies, by the way.

Glad you were at the potluck.

  • Adaptation messes with your head in similar ways. It helps to have seen "Being John Malkovich" first but that's not essential. Last anime I watched was "Bleach", but I haven't followed too many others. But yeah, I went to MHS. I remember the days before they had to have a cop on premises at all times!

  • Hey, it was good to meet you at the potluck. I grew up in Marion as well, but what's important is that Eternal Sunshine is a great movie. Have you seen Adaptation by any chance?

  • Hey Celeste - welcome to the group!! It's interesting that you felt able to decline confirmation. Not only were you smart enough to know you didn't have to, but you felt that you could say no. Most people I know don't even realize at that age that they don't have to it, and the ones that do are too afraid of their parents and do it anyway. I'll be at Leo's on Thursday, so I look forward to hearing more.
