Considering the positive response I got to the "Beer and Philosophy" Idea, I'm going to schedule one in April. Would a Tuesday night work for those who are interested?

I've been unusually busy (or ill) this month and last, and probably next month. But I could be free for beer and philosophy Tuesday March 30th, or April 13th, or April 27th.
Depending on where we hold it, I could bring the auction booty -- I mean the beers Stephen brewed and donated -- to share. |

Considering the positive response I got to the "Beer and Philosophy" Idea, I'm going to schedule one in April. Would a Tuesday night work for those who are interested?Tuesdays are out for me. There's a group of us who meet weekly at Buffalo Wild Wings (NE Side) to play NTN Trivia. We play as a group, sharing answers, and are always looking to expand the group. We start gathering around 6:30, and the main game starts at 7:30. Also, Tuesday, March 30, I'm teaching a Beginning Home Brewing class at Hy-Vee (Edgewood Road). |

Tuesdays generally work for me, but then, so do most nights.

Tuesday nights are good, just not the third Tuesday.

How did it go? I wanted to go to this but I had class. What were the topics?

... I wanted to go to this but I had class.Too good for the beer crowd, eh Bill? ;) I thought Beer and Philosophy went very well. Sam Harris and ethics were the sofa-group's topics, with Robin as the one with the most interesting opinions. Not sure what the table-sitters talked about. Sex, most likely. They seemed to think the venue was noisy. http://www.corridor-a... Adam threw a Corridor Secularists Friday night social -- now *that* was an ideal atmosphere for talking and being heard. The topics generally weren't as deep, but the group was a blast. |

Adam threw a Corridor Secularists Friday night social -- now *that* was an ideal atmosphere for talking and being heard. The topics generally weren't as deep, but the group was a blast. So all of us other A-Teamers apparently have a less than ideal atmosphere for talking and being heard at our houses for our socials? ![]() |

... all of us other A-Teamers apparently have a less than ideal atmosphere for talking and being heard at our houses for our socials?Whew! I'm so glad you stepped up and admitted this, Lori, without my having to point it out to you specifically. ![]() But seriously, most homes (with carpet and drywall) are better for hearing conversation than bars are (with tile floors, wood or brick walls, and exposed-duct ceilings). And honestly, another reason Adam's party worked so well was because there were no more than a dozen folks, all in a circle facing each other, not trying to talk over each other, background noise, or nearby groups' conversations. For those of us who have trouble hearing past bar/cocktail din, or don't like having to raise our voices (or damned kids with their "rock and roll"), it was great! |
